Hi Boys and Girls!
SAFSHOPS has been on yet another hiatus, but will be back up and running with new writers and a redesign over the next few months. New posts will begin next week, so until then check out a Side by Side shop guest post our Editor-In-Chief recently wrote for the Affluent Pauper. Our budgeting ways are not limited to fashion y'all!
As a single gal who tries to feed herself something interesting and healthy-ish on a semi-daily basis, I’m often wondering whether I should head to the gorgeously designed and sensory-overloading Whole Foods for the slightly pricey a la carte dinner trip or skip on over to the more intimate and often times friendlier Trader Joe’s for an easy all-in-one budget-friendly frozen meal. Etsy Find Fridays
If you haven't heard of Etsy, today is your lucky day because we are letting you in on a wonderful world of amazing handmade treasures and finds! The SAFSHOPS team loves to spend hours looking at all the wonderful handmade creations for sale. Below are our favorites for this week:
This lovely Funky Burnt Orange Cowl/Neckwarmer by seller lorilooms is beautifully organic and would be a great addition to your wardrobe for $26.
Purple is the color of royalty, our current favorite hue as well as that of our personal fashion icon diva, Mrs. Obama, so the beautifully constructed Grape Poppy bobbypins by poppychicdesigns is an affordable way to wear purple...their only $6.50. Etsy is a great site for recessionistas and fashionistas alike to find fabulous finds. Until next, week...HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- SAFSHOPS TEAM

First Lady Fashion: Inaugural Balls Edition
We've just learned that the gorgeous and very bridal evening gown worn by our newest First Lady was designed by the young and up-and-coming designer Jason Wu. The gown is a departure for Mrs. Obama, who we have often seen in vibrant shades and tones of the rainbow. Personally, we here at SAFShops expected her to wear either a very regal purple gown or even a red dress. Even designers asked to create her look imagined her in richer hues.
Nonetheless, Michelle Obama was stunning last night in her white chiffon dream of a gown. For those of you newly engaged or looking for a prom dress, Jason Wu's gowns range in the $3,000 to $6,000 range, but this classically beautiful silhouette can be found at much more recessionista prices. Whether it is full-length, sexy or short and sassy, see below for our personal favorites.
